Southern African Clinidae

The clinids of Southern Africa are all intertidal and subtidal shore fishes and are the lastest family of endemic fishes in South African waters. There are currently 43 known species. Several studies have been done of both clinid taxonomy and their abundance amongst tide pools fishes, and some work on the biology of some of the west coast species, and the feeding ecology and genetics of some of the more common species.
My interest lies in pulling all these and other data together to form a picture of the different species’ depth and geographic distribution patterns and their evolution.
