Inventory of Palau Islands shore fishes

In 2003 a group of collaborators (Royal Ontario Museum, Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago and I) entered in to an agreement with the Government of Palau to make a comprehensive inventory of the shore fishes of the islands. The work is being carried out in three phases. In the first phase (in 2004) collections were made around the central islands of Palau; Phase II was carried out in 2006 and encompassed the northern and southernmost islands of the Main Islands, and in 2008 we will make collections at the Soutwest Islands, north of New Guinea.

The inventory is to be used by the Palau government to inform them on conservation policies.
