Womens Day 2017

SAIAB's Wellness Committee partnered with a number of local forums to promote healthy living in the community by contributing to the organisation of a family day for Woman's Day 2017. The event featured a 5km fun walk, talks on gender violence and health and a two hour aerobics marathon. The event brought together the South African Police, Community Policing Forum, FAMSA, the Department of Health, Makana Municipality, Eastern Cape Department of Sports' Recreation, Arts & Culture, Department of Social Development, Department of Home Affairs, Eastern Cape Education Department, Eastern Cape Roads & Public Works Department and Makana Aerobics & Fitness Club. SAIAB staff, interns and students participated in numbers and the day was a great success. The event also provided a platform to promote and create awareness about the Department of Science and Technology's National Science Week - #nsw2017.
